On the 20th October nine couples met at Berowra truck stop bound for Port Stephens. Steve had compiled a wonderful scenic drive with the first stop being morning tea at Freemans Waterhole.
Next, lunch at Cookabarra Restaurant at Bobs Farm followed by a tour of the Barramundi farm where we were able to feed and pat the Barramundi. This proved to be very entertaining.
From there it was onto Nelson Bay and our accommodation, which proved to be very comfortable indeed. Some of the men then proceeded to Steve’s dad’s to inspect a beautiful handmade boat, while the ladies did a wee bit of meandering around the shops and made a beeline for the ice cream parlour.
At 6.45 we all met in the courtyard to wander down to meet our boat at the marina for our sunset cruise. We did look very colourful in our Hawaiian attire. Bruce and Tony even decided to wear grass skirts for the occasion – very sexy !! A lovely smorgasboard dinner awaited us and some great live entertainment. However, the best entertainment was when one of our men was chosen to compete in a pole dancing competition. He displayed talents which even his wife did not know he had !! We wandered back to our hotel and continued to party on.
On Sunday it was time for a little therapeutic shopping for the ladies then on to Murrays Brewery for lunch.
We then headed home.
A great weekend was had by all
