Show & Shine 2018

G,Day All.
Well the 2018 Show & Shine has been judged & won.
After a pretty miserable Saturday, with lots of rain & wind at Castle Hill, I was worried about the wet weather on Sunday while moving Marg & the Talledega in and out of their garage bays multiple times. I was receiving phone calls , texts and emails asking if we were we going to be on on Sunday. Looking at the weather forecast it said it was going sunny & 22 deg.so we decided to proceed as planned.
Sunday morning gave us clear blue skies, so on my drive out to set up my spirits were Lifted. On my arrival Craig Allen and Christopher Marchant were well underway setting up the marquee and tables so I hung the flags around the fences and on the marquee. To my disappointment we only had 12 cars at around 9.30, but by 10.30 or so we had 20, with a total of 24 to be judged. We had our now customary guest Judge Terry Beddington from the CMC judging pool & we thank him for his fine work. Terry takes the pressure off our members to do the judging and has many years of experience doing so.
So who were the winners ?
96/99 Warren Cole
900 Classic John & Kerry Wallace
900 S Lesley & Craig Marchant
9.3 Early Kaitlin Murphy
9.3 Late Craig Allen
9000 Jeanine Grey
9.5 Kaitlin Murphy

And to me the most important award
People’s Choice Jess Brown
Jess’s 900 Turbo S Coupe has just completed some major restoration work and looks fantastic. That Eucalyptus green makes for a stunning look. Many thanks go to Chris Marchant for organising yet another great Show & Shine for our club.
Thanks also to Kerry Wallace for being the most persistent raffle ticket seller and to Craig Allen for his usual help with the setting up, even though he won the huge meat tray raffle in the bar later & didn’t invite us all for a BBQ .
A big thank you to our sponsors Saab Salvage, Saab Tech, Pate & Vernooy Automotive, Premier Wealth Management & Engineering & Export Services. Our sponsors make events like the Show & Shine possible.
One last special thankyou to you, our members, for your outstanding efforts on such a crappy weather preparation day on Saturday great job !
I look forward to catching up with you all at the next event.
Happy Saabing
Craig Marchant
